“Rory McLeod ...so original it's nigh impossible to compare him with anyone else...An awe inspiring live performer who … writes quite brilliant songs." - fRoots Magazine

From his early days as a fire eater and circus clown to gripping audiences worldwide, Rory McLeod has lived a life as colourful and deep as his music. A seasoned troubadour, Rory brings to the stage a rich tapestry of folk, jazz, and world music, blended seamlessly with the tales of a well-traveled life of adventure and art.

BUNKER178 presents Rory McLeod in the atmospheric Arch 4, Arches Studios.

Recognized with the prestigious Best Live Act title at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, his work echoes the spirit of a true minstrel. Songs like those from "Lullabies for Big Babies" and "Mouth to Mouth" show off his range, blending pop, rock, and jazz elements into a unique folk sound that speaks to the soul.

Rory's collaborations with artists like Michelle Shocked and Ani DiFranco, along with his penning of the the theme to the series "Creature Comforts," spotlight his versatility. He seems able to invoke the spirits with his music, often drawing inspiration from his time in Zimbabwe, has not only earned him a spot as a BBC Radio 4 "pick of the week" but has endeared him to listeners and critics alike.

"Rory Mcleod must be the musical equivalent of a six or seven ball juggler... " The Guardian (UK)

Come and discover why WOMAD describes him as carrying "the music of the world in one suitcase." With Rory, you will be getting an evening of unpalatable truths, broken hearts, and social justice, all wrapped in a performance that's as percussive as it is melodic, bold and charming.

Don't miss this chance to see Rory McLeod live, a true feral folk musician whose talents have been lauded by Martin Newell as "enormous" and whose harmonica play has been called "rousing" by Robin Denselow of The Guardian. This is more than a concert; it's a celebration of life's melodies and the stories they hold. See you there!
